Hear the unreleased blink-182 and Miley Cyrus collab recorded for ‘NINE’

blink-182‘s NINE released in September of 2019, so fans are pretty familiar with the content of their newest studio album by now. But, did you know that there is an unreleased version of “I Really Wish I Hated You” that featured Miley Cyrus‘ vocals?

That’s right. A snippet of that version was released and Mark Hoppus confirmed it’s legitimate in a recent Twitch stream.

Mark Hoppus has been on a livestream extravaganza as of late. The blink-182 bassist and co-vocalist has entertained the masses by playing Animal Crossing and blink-182 and +44 tracks. He also broke hearts by revealing blink-182 would never play Neighborhoods “Kaleidoscope” live.

But now, it appears the band collaborated with pop superstar Miley Cyrus for a NINE song but it wasn’t ever released.

The news broke recently when a snippet of “I Really Wish I Hated You” featuring Miley Cyrus leaked. Many fans assumed it was fake with Cyrus’ vocals superimposed over the track. Check it out below.

Well, one fan was watching Hoppus’ most recent stream and decided to ask if it was legitimate.

Hoppus looked like a deer in the headlights at first, barely stammering to say “Huh. Did it leak? I will be right back and we’ll talk about this. I don’t know what the story is with…well I know exactly what the story is with the Miley Cyrus version of “I Really Wish I Hated You. But I did not realize that it was in the world. So I am trying to find out answers.”

Later on in the stream he was asked again and confirmed the track exists.

“She sang on a version of “I Really Wish I Hated You and apparently it leaked,” Hoppus said.

You can see the bit cut from the stream below.

The full track has not been released yet, and probably never will be. It’s a real shame too because it sounds like an absolute banger. Listen to the original version of “I Really Wish I Hated You” below.
