Are blink-182 working with Pharrell on new music?

Travis Barker has been going wild with collaborations in between recording the new blink-182 album, and now he’s in the studio with another huge name.

From Halsey and YUNGBLUD to FEVER 333, the drummer has been working with a wide variety of artists, and he might be adding another name to the list.

Barker shared a short video on his Instagram and Snapchat Stories yesterday of pop icon Pharrell Williams grabbing some studio time with the drummer.

Even though we hope it’s for the new blink album, we’re not quite sure what the two are working on. It looks like we’ll have to wait for confirmation as the videos are conveniently missing sound.

However, the internet came through for us once again with plenty of theories. Reddit user bradsonemanband patched together some studio pictures from Mark Hoppus and Matt Skiba’s Instagram accounts, showing similar decor to the video featuring Pharrell.

“Here’s a collage of Matt, Mark, and Travis’ pics today in NRG Recording Studios today. Judging by Matt’s caption, I think it’s safe to say that Pharrell is working with Blink-182,” the comment reads.

Skiba seemed to be stoked in the Instagram post, hinting at the band working with a big name.

“Having one of those pinch-myself days… ♥️….”working WHERE? with WHO?!” #dreamy #writing #recording #hardatplay” the caption reads.

This isn’t the first time the two have joined forces, with Pharrell appearing on Barker’s 2011 album Give The Drummer Some for “If You Want To” including Lupe Fiasco.

It’s also not Pharrell’s first rodeo in the scene, laying down beats for Fall Out Boy in “w.a.m.s.” in 2008 and appearing on Warped Tour with N.E.R.D. in 2002.

Pharrell is only the latest in a long string of possible collaborators that Barker has teased recently. YUNGBLUD and Machine Gun Kelly were featured on each other’s social media accounts, with MGK also including Barker on some posts around the same time.

Barker revealed the new blink album has been influenced by his recent work with hip-hop artists, and Pharrell’s presence definitely echoes that thought.
