The band were asked if they feel they need to fight for acceptance at festivals as a metal band and quickly shot down the idea.

“We’re not really a metal band as such. We’re kind of ‘false metal’. So I don’t think we’re… We’re not really accepted by the metal community I don’t reckon so we’re just kind of doing our own thing I think,” says Fish.

Bassist Matt Kean also added his thoughts saying the non-metal festival sets they get to play allow them to open people up to new types of music.

“It’s good that we have these songs in our set where they are quite like heavy and it might not be what a lot of these people are used to but then we’ve got songs that are more probably to what these people listen to as well you know. We kinda can show them all different sides of us. I think a lot of people are a lot more open-minded in these kinds of festivals,” says Kean.

Japanese pop-metal group BABYMETAL also played the festival revealing they want to collaborate with Bring Me The Horizon.

“We love Bring Me The Horizon and I respect the band and their music,” Moametal says. “We want to collaborate with Bring Me The Horizon.”
