Bowling For Soup pen rock-heavy tribute song to WWE's Alexa Bliss

Rock and Roll and WWE have a friendship that never ceases to perish. Everyone from Poppy to Bring Me The Horizon have been involved with the professional wrestling mega-corporation. And now, Bowling For Soup can add their name to the list.

The Texas pop-punks not only had a WWE star in their music video, but the song was entirely devoted to that star, Alexa Bliss.

Just last month, the Monday Night Messiah Seth Rollins teamed up with Trophy Eyes for their music video “Figure Eight.” But rock and wrestling doesn’t stop there. Poppy rocked the house for an NXT television event, Slipknot has provided NXT’s theme and Bring Me The Horizon are on the video game soundtrack.

Well given the fast friendship between Bowling For Soup’s Jaret Reddick and Alexa Bliss, it only made sense for the two powerhouses to team up. For those who don’t know Alexa Bliss she’s a top dog in the WWE Women’s division. She’s a five-time WWE Women’s Champion and helped break barriers for women in the company with her acrobatic nd technical wrestling skills.

For those who don’t know Bowling For Soup, shame on you. But their biggest hits include “1985,” “High School Never Ends” and “Girl All The Bad Guys Want.”  The latte of which had a fun 2019 makeover that you can watch below.

Bliss has previously stated that Bowling For Soup is her absolute favorite band.

Speaking of the new track “Alexa Bliss” and of The Goddess herself, Reddick talked about how they formed a friendship.

“Meeting Alexa Bliss was insane! Here is the freakin’ WWE Womens champ, and she likes our band! I’ll admit, I checked her socials after we met the first time and saw that she had worn our shirt in a photo, and tweeted about listening to us in class while still in Ohio haha…

We became fast friends. She has been such a pleasure to get to know and has been so awesome to me and my family…why WOULDN’T I write a song about her?!? ”Five feet of amazing!!!”

Alexa Bliss had equally nice words to say.

“This song is amazing 🙂 filming the video was such a great time I had a blast. It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when your favorite band in the world makes a song about you. And Jaret is always so fun to work with and be around :-)”

The two have posted pictures together in the past.

The central riff is guitar tone might be the heaviest that Bowling For Soup has ever had, fitting perfectly with WWE’s Attitude-era.

The partially Weird Science-tributed video sees two young kids spending time with Bliss while Reddick casts his signatures vocals referencing everything from her finishing move to her pet pig Larry Steve. Watch the video below.

“Alexa Bliss” Lyrics

She saw me for the first time in Columbus
But she was with her friends and I was in a tour bus
A few months later she was wearing my shirt in a photo shoot
I didn’t even know that she was famous
How could someone so pretty be so dangerous?
She’s only 5′ tall but maybe 5’2″ in her wrestling boots

And I hear she can even sing
She’s the champ of everything

(Hey!)
Why can’t every girl be more like Alexa Bliss?
(Hey!)
How can a chick on TV make me feel like this?
She’s got a finishing move called Twisted Bliss
And it’s like my heart is caught in a sleeper hold
Woah-oh-oh
Why can’t every girl be more like Alexa Bliss?

She says some really mean stuff to the other wrestlers
Some say they hate her but they just don’t get her
And if you try to bring her down, she’ll say “Bless your heart”
Her favorite song’s “Girl All the Bad Guys Want”
Sometimes she cheats but she never gets caught, yeah
She’s got a pig named Larry-Steve and he’s so smart

I love to watch her in the ring
To me, she’s the champ of everything
