Brendon Urie gives in-depth look at his 'Frozen 2' song's creation

With Frozen 2 hitting streaming services, Disney is offering up a new behind-the-scenes look at how Brendon Urie put Panic! At The Disco‘s song for the film together.

In the new clip, Urie goes into his favorite parts of the Oscar-nominated anthem, “Into the Unknown,” as well as his connection to it and how he reacted upon the offer.

The soundtrack, which was announced last September, also featured songs from Weezer and Kacey Musgraves among others.

The song is sung by the character Elsa in the film but of course, Panic! At The Disco recorded their own version as well as a music video for the end credits. In case you haven’t heard “Into The Unknown” yet, check it out below.

In the new behind-the-scenes clip, Urie says “I love everything about this song.”

“My favorite thing about it, though, is just that soaring chorus. I can’t get enough of it. Every time it breaks into the chorus, I get chills. I’m getting chills just talking about it.”

When Disney ended up offering the opportunity to record a song for the soundtrack Urie also says he was quick to jump on the chance.

“I thought, ‘If I have any chance at all to sing this, yes, I’m going to take that opportunity, right now.’”

Speaking on the personal connection the musician has to the track, Urie offers an anecdote about relating to Elsa hearing a voice in her head telling her to pursue something she’s unsure of.

“It’s this point in the story where Elsa’s hearing this voice in her head and she isn’t sure where it’s coming from. She has to come to terms with if she wants to pursue this thing or just ignore it completely and live her life. I’ve definitely been in that place before — do I go pursue this amazing curiosity that terrifies me to no end or do I just sit comfortably and rest on my laurels?”

Frozen 2 is now available on streaming platforms and will be out on Blu-Ray on February 25.
