Bring Me The Horizon delay their new song to support the BLM movement

Bring Me The Horizon have decided to delay the release of their new single “Parasite Eve.” The news comes from frontman Oli Sykes Instagram page today (June 8).

The upcoming song was set to release on June 10 and will be their first new music since the Music To Listen To… EP back in December.

Bring Me The Horizon have been releasing video updates showing how they wrote and recorded their upcoming record while in coronavirus quarantine.

At first, the band dropped a series of videos, all with “BMTH8” in the title. The updates ranged everywhere from a prank on Oli Sykes’ mom, Carol to the return of Suicide Season era growls. There was even a bit about an inferior penis

These videos slowly started to show one predominant song take shape, “Parasite Eve.” Near the end of May, Bring Me The Horizon announced a second series of videos further detailing their efforts working remotely. This series is titled “BMTHS2.”

Amid all this new content, Sykes took to Instagram to announce that “Parasite Eve” officially had a release set for June 10.

Now, for all the right reasons, Sykes and Bring Me The Horizon are delaying the release of the new song.

Black Lives Matter protests have occurred in all 50 states and 18 countries around the world. The protests are addressing police brutality and systemic racism. They were initially sparked by the police killing of George Floyd. So, in order to let more important voices be heard right now, BMTH is delaying “Parasite Eve.”

hello everyone- so as some of you know we were planning on releasing a new track this week. But with the incredible movement that is taking place currently we don’t feel comfortable releasing & promoting anything that takes the focus off what’s important right now. I KNOW you will all understand because we have the best fans in the world & I promise you we won’t make you wait too long & the good news is more music will be coming soon after P.E too. But for now keep fighting the good fight & stay tuned ✨♥️✨
