On July 25, YUNGBLUD tweeted Oli Sykes and Jordan Fish. The not-so-subtle tweet seemingly hinted that a collaboration between the two British artists was in the works.

“yo @olobersyko @JordanFish86 … check ur inbox,” the tweet says.

YUNGBLUD’s tweet then led to a prompt response from Fish.

Then, at the start of August, BMTH confirmed that a YUNGBLUD collaboration is actually happening.

Bring Me The Horizon were recently interviewed by Jack Saunders for MTV Rocks Chart. As soon as Saunders brought up the Twitter exchange with YUNDBLUD, Sykes cryptically confirmed the news.

“Yeah we’ve been scheming, we’ve got something coming,” he said.

Saunders then asked where the collab will fit in Bring Me The Horizon’s upcoming music. Bring Me The Horizon are currently working on four different EPs that will be unveiled over the next year. Each release will fall under the album name Post Human. Both “Parasite Eve” and 2019’s “Ludens” will be on the first release.

During the interview, Fish elaborated on where the YUNGBLUD collab will likely appear on their upcoming releases. As well, he confirmed that BMTH’s new music will include even more guests.

“I think we might kinda like theme our guests a bit more around what’s going on with each EP,” he shared. “When we get into the other EPs, it’ll give us a chance to maybe get some other people on who are a bit more left-field or a bit more out of the box for our band.”

Now, Bring Me The Horizon and YUNGBLUD have shared the first look at the highly-anticipated new collab. On Aug. 27, BMTH offered a glimpse into the forthcoming collab with a photo of Sykes. The tweet’s caption “it was written in blood” could potentially reference some of the collab’s lyrics.

At this time, a release date for the upcoming collab has not been shared. However, the new song could be the first piece of new music to come from each artist in a while. Bring Me The Horizon unveiled “Parasite Eve,” their latest single, back in June. The track marked BMTH’s first new release since 2019’s Music To Listen To EP.

As well, YUNGBLUD recently released his new single “Strawberry Lipstickback in July. The single is off of his sophomore album that is expected to be released sometime this year.

BMTH and YUNGBLUD have done various collaborations over the years, but have never collaborated together. Both acts have worked with Halsey in the past. Halsey is featured on BMTH’s latest EP and their co-written collab “Experiment On Me” is on the Birds of Prey soundtrack.

“new bmth fuckin SLAPS been here since SS n they still pioneering shit ?? good day for rock n roll go listen man,” he tweets.

UPDATE: AUG. 31, 3:20 P.M. EST

Both Bring Me The Horizon and YUNGBLUD have shared a chaotic video that is further teasing their upcoming collaboration. In a new tweet, BMTH encourages fans to sign up for their mailing list to receive exclusive news before anyone else.

As well, the tweet’s caption says “another day another systematic nightmare,” a phrase that could be lyrics from the upcoming collab.

YUNGBLUD shared the same video on his Instagram story on Monday. The video features footage ripped directly from the headlines including news anchors talking about robots, technology losing “the human touch” and more.
