You can stream an animated Captain Marvel movie for free
It's a 'Captain Marvel' filled weekend.March 8, 2019
Captain Marvel fans can stream a free animated movie about the hero on DisneyNow in celebration of the film’s opening weekend.
The film, Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, is a 2018 film about the hero teaming up with Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl.
DisneyNow, the streaming service that offers Disney content, usually requires a pre-existing cable subscription. However, the service is making the Marvel film available to everyone.
The film, which hit theaters Friday, stars Brie Larson as the titular character in Marvel’s first ever female-led superhero film.
While it’s obvious this is the studio’s first female-led superhero film, women are also making waves behind the scenes. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are co-directing, and Boden is Marvel’s first female directors.
It also contains one of Stan Lee’s final cameos that will bring you to tears.
“I don’t want to say anything I’m not supposed to say,” Boden tells comicbook.com. “But just that it was… we did want to kind of have a moment and tribute to Stan Lee in this movie, obviously. It was something that came from Marvel and when they showed it to us, there was not a dry eye in the house. It was really emotional.”
Fleck also chimed in on what it was like to work with Lee in regards to his cameos.
“You know it just, it felt right… When you look at the script and you’re like, ‘Where are we gonna put Stan Lee in this movie?,’ that seemed like the right place. Throw him into that scene.”
This tribute scene already sounds promising… and like a real tear-jerker.
In case you are as crazy about this film as we are, you can check out Larson and co-star Samuel L. Jackson do an amazing recreation of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Oscar performance of “Shallow” below.
