We knew Brie Larson was going to be a total badass as Captain Marvel, but now we’re finally seeing it with our own eyes.

While it’s obvious this is the studio’s first female-led superhero film, women are also making waves behind the scenes. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are co-directing, and Boden is Marvel’s first female director.
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, recently revealed that Captain Marvel is setting a precedent for the future of the studio’s films in that it won’t be the last film directed by a woman.
“I cannot promise that all 20 Marvel movies will have female directors but a heck of a lot of them will,” he says, according to Variety.
Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019. Check out the full trailer below.
