No Marvel movie would be complete without a cameo from the infamous Stan Lee. Even after his passing, Lee has continued to make his pre-filmed appearances in recent Marvel movies. The most recent tribute is just a few days out, tucked away in the soon-to-be-released Captain Marvel. But be sure to bring a box of tissues with you, as directors of the film say this tribute will not leave a dry eye in the house.

The comic book world (and beyond) is still mourning Stan Lee who passed away last year at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. After his passing, fans began to wonder which Marvel film would hold Lee’s last cameo appearance. Lee’s agent and director Joe Russo have both confirmed Lee filmed scenes through Avengers: Endgame.

This means, we’ll get to see our beloved Stan Lee in Captain Marvel, which is set to be released in just a few short days.

Critics have already boasted rave reviews in regards to the film, which is expected to be one of the last cameos from Lee.

Now, directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have confirmed that the tribute will be “really emotional”.

“I don’t want to say anything I’m not supposed to say,” Boden tells comicbook.com. “But just that it was… we did want to kind of have a moment and tribute to Stan Lee in this movie, obviously. It was something that came from Marvel and when they showed it to us, there was not a dry eye in the house. It was really emotional.”

Fleck also chimed in on what it was like to work with Lee in regards to his cameos.

“You know it just, it felt right… When you look at the script and you’re like, ‘Where are we gonna put Stan Lee in this movie?,’ that seemed like the right place. Throw him into that scene.”

This tribute scene already sounds promising… and like a real tear-jerker.
