2. Cartel's Will Pugh has teamed up with FRND for an acoustic remix of “Sticks And Stones!”
FRND is an L.A. based electronic artist, and his latest remix comes in collaboratoration with Cartel's own Will Pugh.
FRND's single “Sticks And Stones” was released about two months ago, and now that Pugh has covered it acoustically, it's been remixed and released today as FRND's latest production.
Speaking on the story behind “Sticks And Stones,” FRND's soundcloud states, “Sticks And Stones is about ending a relationship but the more you try to move on, the more you can't forget. You go through the motions of shutting someone out but they are still that one person you can't let go of.”
FRND dubs himself, “By day, videogame enthused couch dweller, by night idiot-savant, sugar-fueled extrovert,” but he somehow finds time to make some sweet jams in between. FRND will also be releasing his own video for the songs “Friend” and “Sticks And Stones” on January 26, so keep an eye out!
Have a listen to Will Pugh's remixed version of “Sticks And Stones” below, and let us know what you think about FRND!

3. The legendary Alice In Chains have revealed that they're working on a new album
The followup to 2013's The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is on its way according to bassist Mike Inez. In a new interview with guitar company Framus & Warwick, he stated that the band had begun working on new material at the beginning of the month.
“Being in the studio for twenty hours a day isn’t fun, but it’s a great job,” Inez says. “But we try to make that our clubhouse and separate that from the business, kind of. So we’re still in that… playing in the sandbox, kind of, for this new record anyways. We’re still getting together in the same city, and plugging in in the same room.”
You can watch part one of the full interview below, and get yourself all amped up for some new, modern day grunge!
4. Instrumental group Vasudeva announces new album, single, and tour with Dance Gavin Dance and Chon!
Hailing from New Jersey, the three-piece instrumental group blends electronic and indie music skillfully to produce pleasing soundscapes for all to hear. Now Vasudeva have announced the release of their second LP, No Clearance, which they've been working rigorously on since 2014 and 2015, ensuring the production is up to their premium standards.
The album was self-recorded, and features a wider array of instruments, allowing the band to channel their most raw and refined sound yet.
The band's name comes from Hermann Hesse’s 1922 novel, Siddhartha, and aims to channel the same peacful, but dynamic range that the character represents in literature. Vasudeva has also been invited to tour alongside Dance Gavin Dance and Chon this spring, allowing the band to showcase their music around the country. You can view the full list of dates below.
