After apparent allegations of a sexual nature, Los Angeles rockers Cherry Pools announce they’re parting ways with their bassist. Read the band’s dual statements and see the original Twitter thread highlighting the allegations, below.

“After giving the situation some more thought and some more pieces of the story start coming to the surface,” the band write in an updated Instagram post, “we’ve decided that the right thing to do would be to part ways.” You can view the full statement here.

However, prior to the message issued Thursday evening, the band attempted to clear the air on the matter in a lengthy Twitter post Tuesday. At that time, it appeared that no band members would be leaving Cherry Pools.

But the bassist’s ultimate removal seemingly stems from allegations made in recent Twitter threads, which can be read starting here and here, wherein a woman claims a member of the band performed an explicitly unwanted sexual act on her, during what is otherwise described as consensual sex. This story is currently developing. Cherry Pools toured with PVRIS earlier this year, and they released the video for their track “All The Way” this past summer. The “Forever Young” songsters were recently robbed in Los Angeles.
