Chester Bennington’s first band invite son to re-record father’s old vocals

Chester Bennington’s son has been invited by his father’s first band to re-record vocals on some of their old songs. According to NME, Bennington’s son, Jamie Bennington, was recently in the studio with the folks in Grey Daze to honor his father’s work.

While Bennington was most notably the frontman of Linkin Park, he worked with Grey Daze until 1998, where he recorded three albums.

In a Facebook post, Grey Daze share a few photos of them posing with Bennington’s son as well as a snapshot of him in the booth.

“Chester would have been so very proud of his son Jaime Bennington,” the band say in a Facebook post. “We had Jaime sing along with his father last night at NRG Recording Studios and his voice is great! Sounds a lot like his father and we were all very proud to be a part of it.”

Additionally, Grey Daze recruited two members of Korn to join them on the project, adding that “Chester would be soooo stoked right now!”

However, According to NME, this wouldn’t be the first time Bennington’s son has recorded material. In fact, Jamie has some music of his own on his SoundCloud.

As of right now, there is no release date set on the recording just yet.

Recently, Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton released their collab “Cross Off.” You can listen to the track below.

Morton describes his experience recording with Bennington as a “very free-flowing and natural process. We both really loved the song from its inception and everyone that worked on it put a lot of energy and emotion into it. I feel like you can really hear that in the track, and absolutely in Chester’s performance.”

Chester Bennington unexpectedly died last July after taking his own life. Following the singer’s death, Talinda Bennington started the 320 campaign in honor of the late musician.
