New Childish Gambino album may be Donald Glover's last album ever

This doesn’t look too promising Gambino fans.

Donald Glover announced earlier last year of his plans to retire the “Childish Gambino” moniker after he released his forthcoming, and coincidentally last, album.

The news, of course, didn’t go over well with fans of the rap artist. While there was hope that Glover would possibly change his mind following his first major label deal, it looks as though that’s simply not the case.

During an interview with radio station WNYC, Glover’s creative director Ibra Ake appeared to have confirmed Glover’s prior remarks that the upcoming LP will be his “last” album, saying:

“I think we like to keep stuff under wraps, but there’s more coming, and we like to think of ourselves as like the Avengers every time we can assemble and all our schedules are in line,” Ake commented on future plans.

He added: “So that’s happening right now and we’re working rapidly to just get as much out as we can. Especially this last run, to really make a big bang, because this is Donald’s last album.”

Yeah, that’s so not something we wanted to hear.

While Glover is still planning on retiring his Gambino name, that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the time we still have with the multi-talented musician and actor while still under his stage name.

Glover recently acted as both host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live, where he unveiled two brand new tracks. The songs marked his first release since 2016's Awaken, My Love!
