Chipotle is giving away free burritos, here's how to get one

Oh, Chipotle. You may charge extra for guac but we love you all the same, and this latest promotion is just one of the many reasons why. Throughout the NBA Finals, Chipotle will be giving away free burritos totaling up to $1 million.

That’s a lot of burritos.

Chipotle may not be an official NBA sponsor, but that isn’t going to stop them from using the Finals as a way to promote some free goodies for avid burrito fans.

During the NBA Finals series between the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors, Chipotle will dish out free burritos every time an announcer says the word, “free.”

The Chipotle Twitter account revealed the news today, but you’ll have to act fast!


Here’s how you can “Freet” your way to free Chipotle, according to their website:

“FREET /FRĒT/ VERB

1. To Tweet free Chipotle during the 2019 men’s professional basketball championship series every time an announcer says the word ‘FREE”’on air during a game. ‘Chipotle is freeting burritos all finals long.’

Yep, you read that right. During the series games, every time an announcer says the word FREE on air, we’ll Tweet a unique keyword that unlocks up to 500 free entrées during the first half of each game and up to 1000 free entrees during the second half of each game. The first 500 people to text the unique offer code to 888222 when ‘free’ is mentioned in the first half, will receive a code for a free entrée. The first 1000 people to text the unique offer code to 888222 when ‘free’ is mentioned in the second half, will receive a code for a free entrée.”

Chipotle will also be offering free delivery throughout the series on orders of $10 or more via the Chipotle app, Chipotle.com and DoorDash. You can snag free delivery Thursday 5/30 to Sunday 6/9 as well as Monday 6/10, Thursday 6/13 and Saturday 6/16 should the series go that far.

The first game will air on ABC this Thursday night in Toronto at 9:00 p.m. EST.
