Chris Squire, bassist and co-founder of Yes, dead at 67

Chris Squire, co-founder and bassist of legendary prog band Yes has passed away from a rare form of leukemia at the age of 67. The news was first reported by Yes keyboardist Jeff Downes, who tweeted “Utterly devastated beyond words to have to report the sad news of the passing of my dear friend, bandmate and inspiration Chris Squire. #yes” this morning.

Squire was the only member of Yes to feature on all of their studio albums. Squire co-founded the band with Jon Anderson in 1968, and the addition of Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman led to massive success in the form of 1971's The Yes Album and 1972's Fragile. Squire released a solo album in 1975 titled Fish Out Of Water.
