CHVRCHES allegedly receive threats after Chris Brown collab criticism

CHRVCHES are receiving major backlash from Chris Brown fans for ridiculing EDM producer and collaborator Marshmello for working with the controversial artist.

They made a statement yesterday about the producer working with Brown.

“We are really upset, confused and disappointed by Marshmello’s choice to work with Tyga and Chris Brown,” they wrote on Twwiter. “We like and respect Mello as a person but working with people who are predators and abusers enables, excuses and ultimately tacitly endorses that behaviour. That is not something we can or will stand behind.”

Brown’s list of controversies includes the felony assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, numerous weapons charges and an ongoing lawsuit regarding an alleged rape in Paris.

Brown has now responded to the Glasgow crew through a comment on the band’s Instagram post.

“BUNCH OF LOSERS. these are the type of people I wish walked in front of a speeding bus full of mental patients. Keep groveling over you own insecurities and hatred. IM BLACK AND PROUD. AND I KNOW ITS HURTS THAT U GUYS ARE STRUGGLING WIT LIFE OR PEACE SO U ARE FORCED TO SEE MY SUCCESS. You aren’t even #2 (REMEMBER 2nd place only means YOU LOST FIRST! TA-TA. GOODDAY PEASANTS”.

Now, the band says Brown’s fans are sending them death threats over their stance. CHVRCHES’ Lauren Mayberry ranted about Brown during a show Saturday night. She suggested she needed to buy a “bulletproof tutu” for her shows due to the graphic threats she’s receiving.

You can see a video of her speech below.

Before her speech, she took to her own Instagram page to comment on the whole thing.

Marshmello has yet to comment on the issue.

Brown also made headlines recently when he made a t-shirt seemingly mocking his rape accuser.
