Fans and residents started a petition to have organizers cancel the event over the growing issue of coronavirus.

The Indio, California festival takes place in Riverside County, which just discovered its first case of the virus, leading to growing support for canceling the event.

Large festivals including SXSW and Ultra Music Festival have already canceled on top of numerous artists bowing out of tour dates.

Riverside County has also declared a public health emergency which could lead to the local government enforcing a cancelation.

Currently, the petition has just over 16,000 signatures.

Now, the EDM geared site is saying their sources are telling them the event is postponing but not canceling. It’s reportedly going to take place the weekends of October 9 and 16 with the same lineup as previously announced.

Yashar Ali of New York Magazine and HuffPost is also reporting the same information. On top of that, a festival worker is also saying the October postponement is imminent.

An official announcement from festival organizers is still not available but will likely be coming through at some point tomorrow.

According to Billboard, official sources for a Coachella promoter GoldenVoice are still attempting to pushback the festival into October. In addition, they’re also attempting to push back the Stagecoach Music Festival. The country-themed fest would also be in October.
