Coachella is set to offer a brand new experience this year, with a new spherical stage called The Antarctic. Amazing photos emerged of the incredible infrastructure, and we only wish we could see it in person.

According to Coachella’s site, you’ll get to immerse yourself in a “360 degree audio-visual sensory experience” inside a massive projection dome.

While we’re not fully sure what this experience will involve, Coachella says the enclosed, spherical stage will take you on a “mind-blowing metamorphic journey through time, space, and consciousness.”

The newest Coachella offering is created by Obscura Digital and powered by HP technology, exclusively for the festival.

The Antarctic is open day and night and will be accessible from Camping and Venue.

Check out the behind-the-scenes looks at the dome (and the way it'll work!) below:

After confirming Lady Gaga as Beyoncé's replacement as this year's headliner, Coachella announced some new additions to its lineup—and there's some up-and-coming punk and rock bands on the list.

Aside from punk mainstays T.S.O.L., Shannon And The Clams, Downtown Boys, Surf Curse, Slow Hollows and Surfboat are playing this year's event.

They join the previously announced Radiohead, the Interrupters, Two Door Cinema Club, Dreamcar and Car Seat Headrest.

The festival is set to take place in Indio, California over two weekends—April 14 to April 16 and April 21 to April 23.
