According to Entertainment Weekly, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is set to return to the dinosaur-filled franchise for its third installment.

In a statement made to EW by the film's executive producer Steven Spielberg, Trevorrow is “going write and direct the third Jurassic World story.”

Trevorrow was the man responsible for bringing the 2015 reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise to the big screen, which grossed $1.67 billion worldwide. While Trevorrow stepped down as director for the sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, he is still very involved in the project, acting as a writer and producer to the sequel.

The news of Trevorrow's official return to the series comes a few months before the sequel roars its way into theaters June 22.

While the sequel, directed by J.A. Bayona, is still a few months away from premiering, that hasn't stopped Spielberg from setting into motion plans of getting the third installment started—dating the third Jurassic film to hit theaters June 11, 2021.
