Corey Taylor teases finished horror movie script among future plans

Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor is currently writing a new book and recently wrote a script for a new horror film.

The singer also plans to release his first solo album in 2021.

Back in January, Taylor talked about possibly exploring social media addiction for a new book.

“There’s a flare in addiction right now and it’s one of the things I’m working on in my new book. There’s a correlation between that and social media — all of the shit that’s been triggered because of social media, the same kind of dopamine trigger. It’s compulsion, gratification, compulsion, gratification. It’s just a constant cycle,” Taylor said.

Taylor’s last book was released in 2017 titled America 51. Much of it was dedicated to his dislike of President Donald Trump.

By the time the book was finished, the singer was mentally exhausted.

“I kind of took a break from writing books after America 51, just because it took such a toll on me mentally that I really had to step away for a while,” he said during a Facebook Live. “But I’m starting to get that itch again. I’ve got a really great idea for a novel as well as a cool idea for another ‘rant’ book, as I like to call ’em. And probably in the next year or so, I’ll start working on that.”

Now, he says that he “broke the skin” on his newest book and stated that he finished a script for a new film.

The singer also revealed how many tracks he’s been working on for his upcoming solo album and what they sound like.

“I wrote a script for a horror movie that I’m really stoked about,” Taylor tells Kerrang. “And I just broke the skin on book five, so I’m working on that as well.”

“I’m starting to get material together for a solo album that I’m going to record in 2021.  I’ve got about 26 songs written for it. It’s going to be the best ’90s album ever. That’s the only way I can really describe it. Some of it is a reflection of being sick and tired of this nutless rock’n’roll I’ve seen lately that is real soft. I like my rock’n’roll to kick me in the fucking nuts. That’s just me though, I’m a fucking dick!”

When asked what his biggest hope for 2020 is, Taylor told Rolling Stone that he’s seeking others to help bring a new movie to life which we’re hoping is the previously mentioned horror film.

“I’m actually working on a movie right now. I finished a script and I’m aggressively looking for investors and producers.”
