Taylor’s been hitting the road hard with Stone Sour since the 2017 release of Hydrograd, and he tells HEAVY that his double-duty musicianship will only continue thanks to his rock act getting a jump on new tunes while touring.

“We started writing new music pretty much as soon as we got on the road,” he says. He adds that the band can relax knowing “when it’s time to really start ramping up the demo machine, we’re gonna have all this cool stuff.”

But don’t forget about masked metalheads Slipknot, who Taylor admits will be taking up most of his time in 2019. The band are currently said to be plugging away at the long-awaited followup to 2014 fifth album .5: The Gray Chapter.

“Obviously I’m going to do Slipknot next year,” he says, “and it will allow the audience to miss [Stone Sour], which is the best thing in the world you can have. That built-in need for a band to come back just when you think you can’t wait any longer.”

Still, there’s “no pressure for us to just run right in,” he says of a probable new Stone Sour LP, as pointed out by Loudwire. Are you stoked for new Slipknot in 2019? Did you catch a Stone Sour show this year? Sound off in the comments!
