Will Slipknot and Stone Sour‘s Corey Taylor be the next big thing on the big screen? The musician reportedly wants to get into filmmaking. In an interview with Full Metal Jackie, Taylor discussed a burgeoning desire to dip his toe into the motion picture industry. The musician reportedly wants to write for, and act in, feature films (via Loudwire). Responding to a question regarding his creative interests outside of music, Taylor dropped the news that he wants to be an actor and screenwriter.
“You know, it’s a damn good question. I definitely want to do more acting. I’ve been hit up for a couple of more acting gigs and where I can, I try and thread the needle and fit it in with the time that I have. As far as that goes, I really really want to write a movie and see it kind of made, take it from the concept stage to the premiere. Take it all through the stages that encompasses that. I’ve got some real cool ideas, at least I think, for movies and I would love to see that happens. I don’t know if it ever will, but here’s to hoping. It could be something really, really cool.”
However, Corey already balances a busy music career with his family life, so the rock vocalist’s celluloid debut may not be coming soon to a theater near you.
“I try and find time and that’s also while trying to be a dad and a husband. It’s just, I think the best problem I ever had was the fact that I have too many interests.”
