Chiodos-Jan2014

Craig Owens, the Ready Set win peta2 awards

Peta2, PETA's youth division, has announced the winners in its music-related categories for the ninth annual Libby Awards.

This year's alternative music winners include Chiodos frontman Craig Owens (Hero Of The Year To Animals) for speaking out against imprisonment of orcas at SeaWorld

Most Animal-Friendly Band went to the Ready Set, who invited peta2 out on tour this year to educate music fans about animal adoption. Watch his video for it here.

“These artists go above and beyond in spreading a caring message through their work—and in reaching out to younger fans who are eager to do more to help animals,” says PETA Director of Youth Outreach and Campaigns Marta Holmberg. “All of peta2's winners and nominees deserve a round of applause because they're inspiring young people across the country to get active for animals in every way they can.”

Other Libby Award categories include Best Use Of Internet Stardom For Animals, Best Vegan Cosmetics Product, and Best New Vegan Food Item. Visit peta2 for more info.
