Creed frontman says he’s completely broke, homeless, “under attack”
Creed vocalist Scott Stapp has posted a bizarre video message on the band’s official Facebook page. In the confessional-style video, Stapp reveals that he’s completely broke, was living in his truck and is now living in a Holiday Inn.
Stapp, who maintains that he’s sober, says he is under “vicious” attack after threatening to go public with a money issue. “A lot of money was stolen from me or royalties not paid,” he says in the video.
“I had no money, not even for gas or food,” he continues. “I went two days without eating, because I had no money and ended up in an emergency room.” He also claims that the IRS froze his bank accounts, and that his bank wouldn’t even give him $5 to eat.
According to the Miami Herald, Stapp is not doing so hot, and his wife recently filed for divorce due to his drug abuse:
“She says he disappeared from their home in early October and hasn’t been telling her where he is. The paperwork shows she asserts Stapp has been doing so much amphetamines, crystal meth and steroids that he has become a paranoid shell who has threatened to kill himself and harm his family.”
Texts from Stapp provided by his wife include statements like “I wouldn't doubt it if the CIA is behind Alcoholics Anonymous” and “Florida is not safe. Biological weapons on the way.”
