Cruella De Vil movie announces director

Considering we only have a little over three months till the live-action Beauty and The Beast movie comes out, it's time to start looking towards the next live-action Disney movie Cruella.

The Hollywood Reporter has recently announced that this origin story for the famous villian from 101 Dalmatians will be directed by Alex Timbers.

Timbers has been nominated for two Tony awards, but is most well known for co-creating Mozart in the Jungle. The comedic drama, found on Amazon Video, follows an oboist and a maestro at the New York Symphony. It's based on the real life memoir of oboist Blair Tindall.

In 2016, Mozart in the Jungle won an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series.

It was announced back in April that Emma Stone would be the one to portray Cruella De Vil.

Kelly Marcel will be writing the origin story but this is not her first time writing something involved with Disney. She also wrote the 2013 classic Saving Mr. Banks. That film starred Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson which focused on the development of the classic Disney film Mary Poppins.

Marcel, more recently, wrote the screenplay Fifty Shades of Grey.
