Cult web series ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’ is coming to TV

Get ready to lose sleep. The terrifying, yet alluring U.K. web series Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is getting its own TV show.

While the creepy live-action/animated shorts have been on hiatus for two years, they are about to make a big comeback. The infamous YouTube channel dropped a teaser trailer for the show, which you can watch below.

The short films went viral on YouTube and Vimeo in the early 2010s. Garnering over 180 million views, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is famous for scarring the lives of children and making grown adults have existential crises.

The U.K. shorts will be coming to the U.S. via Turner’s Super Deluxe Studio. Conaco, Conan O’Brian’s television production firm is producing the show, with the spec pilot already complete.

Additionally, the folks behind Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared have plans to pitch the show to various streaming services, according to Super Deluxe.

While there is no current release date on the TV show, you can expect more Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared soon.
