‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ fans react to Danny Elfman Coachella slot

Coachella announced the lineup for its 2020 music festival yesterday. Artists including Rage Against The Machine (who previously teased it themselves), Frank Ocean and Travis Scott have now been confirmed as headliners. Other than that, the Coachella lineup is fairly ordinary for their demographic, except for one notable name, Danny Elfman.

Danny Elfman is an absolute legend and if you don’t know exactly who he is by name, you will by his work.

Danny Elfman has composed the score for a slew of both cult classic and hit movies. The Nightmare Before ChristmasEdward Scissorhands, The Simpsons, the Tim Burton Batman films, the Sam Raimi Spiderman films, Men in Black and Beetlejuice are but a few in his legendary career.

Elfman is the singing voice of Jack Skellington to put into perspective how wonderful this man truly is. He rose to prominence by starting the New Wave band Oingo Boingo, best known for their hit “Dead Man’s Party”.

Needless to say, an iconic composer doesn’t fit too well with the Coachella vibe. Typically, fans go and see a composer with an orchestra in a bandshell or at a gala, not in a fairgrounds.

Both Danny Elfman fans and Coachella attendees were quick to point out this little fact and the internet is having a field day with humor over Danny Elfman playing Coachella. Check out some reactions below.
