Dashboard Confessional cancel shows this weekend

Dashboard Confessional will not be playing this weekend’s Summer Ever After shows alongside All Time Low and gnash due to an emergency in frontman Chris Carrabba’s family.

The band posted on Twitter today saying they wouldn’t be at this weekend’s shows at Boca Raton, St. Petersburg and Atlanta. All Time Low and gnash will continue with the St. Petersburg and Atlanta dates, but the Boca Raton show is canceled.

A message from Carrabba on the Dashboard Confessional Twitter said that a member of his family survived emergency open-heart surgery, and as a result, Carrabba needed to be with them.

“I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to tell you that we must make up the following shows at a later date: Boca Raton, St. Petersburg and Atlanta,” the message read. “A member of my family has survived emergency open heart surgery but has a difficult few days ahead.”

Even though they can’t make the shows, the message from Carrabba encouraged fans to still go see gnash and All Time Low in St. Petersburg and Atlanta.

“Please go support my friends All Time Low and Gnash in St. Petersburg and Atlanta as those shows will continue. Unfortunately Boca Raton has been canceled and refunds are available at point of purchase. We look forward to coming back to perform for you soon.”

Dashboard Confessional plan to return to the Summer Ever After tour Oct. 1.
