Dave Grohl lends guitar throne to injured country artist

We all remember when Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg from falling off stage in 2015. During the gig, he returned to the stage in a chair to finish the set while wearing a cast.

After he received proper medical treatment, he finished the tour from the comfort of his famous guitar throne.

Now, since Grohl is back in good health, he’s gifted it to Old Dominion’s guitarist Matthew Ramsey to use.

Ramsey fell off the stage during one of the band’s gigs and is on crutches, but can still perform live thanks to the throne.

“So many jokes were thrown around about using Dave Grohl’s throne, finally we just decided to ask and see what happened,” Ramsey said. “I’m sure Dave didn’t know that when he created this thing, everyone would want to use it. But, it has been an honor to sit on, and more importantly, it’s allowing us to keep the show on the road. Our fans are truly grateful. We owe him big for that.”

Old Dominion shared a photo of Ramsey posing next to his new favorite seat on Instagram.

It’s not the first time Grohl has lent out the throne, as Guns N’ Roses had it when Axl Rose broke his foot. The Foo Fighters have also taken the throne on tour for fans to snap a photo in.

Grohl has had his fair share of falls and medical issues since the infamous fall. He recently had to undergo surgery on his arm and the band had to reschedule some shows. Also, he chugged a beer and fell off the stage at a Las Vegas show. Some habits never die.
