Dave Grohl pays tribute to late GWAR frontman Dave Brockie onstage

Along with the announcement of GWAR’s new frontwoman, Foo Fighters frontman and all-around badass Dave Grohl recently paid tribute to the band’s late frontman Dave Brockie (a.k.a. Oderus Urungus) while performing in Richmond, Virginia.

Brockie, who was given a Viking funeral, died at the age of 50 due to an accidental overdose.

“One of the greatest compliments, or non-compliments, that I have ever gotten in my life, I remember seeing this interview with Dave Brockie where they asked Brockie about a Grammy nomination, and somehow he made his way to me, and he said 'Dave Grohl, he's actually had his teeth removed so he could fit more Grammy dicks in his fucking mouth.' So, right now, I give it up to Brockie,” Grohl said to the crowd. “He would fucking hate that I dedicated a fucking song to him.”

You can watch Grohl’s full speech below. Let us know your thoughts.

And here’s the infamous Oderus Urungus interview where he trashes Grohl:
