Deftones announce 2020 tour with Poppy and Gojira

Alt-metal icons Deftones, Euro masters Gojira and next-gen power princess Poppy have teamed up to create one of the most fascinating tours in recent memory. Commencing July 27 in Portland, Oregon and ending Sept. 5 in Denver, Colorado, this multi-faceted lineup is going to generate some double-takes.

“We’re super excited to have Gojira spending the summer with us,” Deftones frontman Chino Moreno says. “And Poppy will be a really fun addition as well. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone this summer. It’s been a minute.”

Of course, longtime stans of Deftones aren’t the slightest bit surprised by this bill. Once considered a pillar of “nü metal,” the Sacramento outfit have continued to grow as artists outside of listeners’ comfort zones. French prog-metal unit Gojira have been expanding the notion of their chosen genre for over two decades. And Poppy’s mix of the innocent and the profane has gotten her into the ears and hearts of many.

Presale tickets begin for Citi cardholders Feb. 11 at 9 a.m. PST. General tickets go on sale this Friday, Feb. 14. Because who has let you down more: music or Valentines Day dates? See the full list of dates below, and purchase your tickets at the Deftones website.
