Demi Lovato shares first statement after drug overdose
Pop star Demi Lovato has released her first statement following a widely reported drug overdose last month. The singer shared the hopeful note to fans via her social media channels on Sunday (Aug. 5). Read Lovato’s message right here.

According to TMZ, Lovato is now out of the hospital and in a rehab center following the overdose two weeks ago. In the new message, she shared news of her recovery in no uncertain terms for the many fans who admire her.
“I’ve always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” the singer says. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome.”
