Demi Lovato debuts powerful song about 2018 struggle at Grammys

Demi Lovato gave a heart-wrenching performance of a song she wrote and recorded four days before her nearly-fatal overdose during the 2020 Grammy Awards. 

The song is called “Anyone” and was recorded Demi last year prior to her relapse into drug addiction that made headlines.

Lovato was hospitalized and has since recovered, and continues to be an advocate for the destigmatization of addiction, which led to her Grammys performance.

The singer was introduced by director Greta Gerwig, who praised Lovato for her strength. 

The performer had to re-start her performance as she became emotional when she began singing, which continued for the entire performance as tears fell down her face. Lovato was given a standing ovation by the crowd for her amazing performance and honesty. You can see a video of the set below.

Over the years, Lovato has dealt with eating disorders and drug abuse. She also got a tattoo last December in honor of her past struggles.
