The CEO of Disney said that Black Panther has already won ahead of tonight’s Oscars ceremony.

Bob Iger took to Twitter to congratulate the team of the Marvel film for their work.

“You already won: you made history! Thanks for making us feel proud, and reminding us of the power we have as a force for good and a force for change in the world,” the tweet reads.

Black Panther made history as being the first time a superhero movie has been nominated for the Best Picture award at the ceremony.

The film will go up against A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Green Book, Roma, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Favourite and Vice.

Black Panther’s nomination should really come as no surprise due to the trailblazer’s reception since hitting theaters in February 2018.

With just a little over a month in theaters, it became the highest-grossing superhero film of all time by passing up previous record holder, The Avengers.

In nearly the same amount of time, it became the most tweeted about movie ever. After a month, the flick was tweeted about more than 35 million times, beating out previous record holders Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, which were bumped to second and third place, respectively.

The film is also nominated for Original Score, Original Song and Costume Design.

The 91st Academy Awards will air on ABC tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST. Check out the full list of nominees here.
