If you're like us, you're counting the days until the next Star Wars movie (Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi comes out in 263 days, in case you were wondering) but Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that waiting for the new Star Wars movie might be our new yearly tradition for a long, long time.

It's honestly no surprise Disney would want to make more Star Wars movies considering just how successful the recent movies have been. Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens made an astronomical $2.068 billion at the box office, while their most recent release Rogue One: A Star Wars Story made $1.055 billion at the box office.

The Hollywood Reporter about what Iger revealed is currently the plan for the future of the Star Wars franchise.

“We’re starting talk about what could happen after Episode IX. About what could be another decade-and-a-half of Star Wars stories,” said Iger.

Another decade-and-a-half of Star Wars movies would mean that we'd be having new Star Wars movies all the way into 2030, which we couldn't be more excited for. After Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi comes out in December, the next movie will be Han Solo's origin story.

A  cast photo from the Han Solo origin story was revealed back in February where our favorite actors were present, including Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clark. Of course, we can't forget our good friend Chewbacca, played by Joonas Suotamo.

Iger also talked about what the Star Wars franchise is going to do now after the untimely of Carrie Fisher, who portrayed Princess Leia.

“When we bought Lucasfilm, we were going to make three films — Episodes VII, VIII and IX,” said Iger. “We had to deal with tragedy at the end of 2016. Carrie appears throughout VIII. We are not changing VIII to deal with her passing. Her performance remains as it is in VIII. In Rogue One, we had some digital character. We are not doing that with Carrie.”
