Austin Clay, a guitarist, destroyed the sidewalk star early Wednesday morning. Witnesses reported seeing the man remove the axe from a guitar case. In spite of this, the vandal reportedly turned himself over to authorities after the incident.

Following his arraignment, Clay’s $20,000 bail was posted by one James Otis, per COS, who had previously vandalized the star in 2016 with a sledgehammer. In that case, Otis plead no contest to his charges and received 3 years probation.
