Saturday Night Live gifted us with a mini-reunion of The Office last night during host Steve Carell’s opening monologue.

Carell began the monologue by speaking about his movie career, but when the format switched to “questions from the audience,” we got a surprise visit from three Office regulars!

Of course everyone, audience members and Office cast alike, were interested in The Office‘s supposed reboot, which Carell has already said he would not be involved in.

“Actually, I don’t think so, it was a great experience and I love all this people but I just don’t think it’s the best idea,” Carell stated of his time playing Office manager, Micheal Scott. “I think maybe we should just leave it alone.”

Ellie Kemper, who played receptionist Erin Hannon on the show, was the first to appear in the crowd, telling Carell: “People would really love to see an Office reboot. Cause I need that money. Let’s get that money, Steve!”

“I just don’t think you understand just how much money we’re talking about. Like, you wouldn’t have to do all those sad movies anymore,” Ed Helms (Andy Bernard) added.

Jenna Fischer, The Office‘s Pam Beesley, was the last to weigh in, hitting Carell right in the feels: “Steve, do you remember the last words that Pam secretly whispered to Michael as she left for Denver? She said, ‘Steve, don’t be a dick, do the reboot.”

We mean, we can’t say we’d be opposed to getting the group back together…

An Office reboot is in the works…?

Back in December 2017, NBC was supposedly ready for the comedy to come back in the 2018-2019 season. Not a lot has been said since, but the new season was said to feature a mix of old and new characters.

Michael Scott, the branch’s regional manager played by Steve Carell, wouldn’t be one of them, though. The network was already searching for a new star to play the boss.

Many actors had already expressed interest in a revival including Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Creed Bratton and John Krasinski.
