Download Bywater’s 'Lionshare' for Free
Long Island’s Bywater has released their new EP, Lionshare, for free download and stream via their website, bywatermusic.com. Here, visitors are also able to download the band’s back catalogue for free, too.
The indie rock/alternative outfit implements a unique, yet accessible sound, comparable to artists such as Brand New, As Cities Burn, and Balance & Composure. Yet, while similarities can be seen, Bywater also manages to maintain their own sense of identity and individuality.
Lionshare, which features five new tracks, explores a vast spectrum of concepts and emotions both lyrically and instrumentally. In doing so, each song is able to stand individually, as well as part of a larger whole.
On tracks like “Foxdie” and “Bear Tooth,” Bywater explores a broad dynamic utilizing heavy distortion and feedback as much as harmony and lo-fi sensibility. Additionally, tracks like “Lionshare” and “Wolf-Ring” utilize structure, melody, and syncopated rhythms.
