The Songwriter Font project, created by Julien Sens and Nicolas Damiens, has created downloadable typefaces that mimic the handwriting of some of rocks legends, including the likes of Kurt Cobain, David Bowie, John Lennon, Serge Gainsbourg and Leonard Cohen.

Each of the fonts were created by using legends “original handwritten letters and notes.” Though, it’s important to note that all of these fonts are downloadable, but they’re only meant to be used for “personal use.”

According to the website, the project was developed to “to give musicians inspiration” when writing music.

The project hopes that “writing lyrics with the handwriting of influential songwriters” will help artists when it’s time to sit down and write a few songs, which they hope will further allow musician’s “imagination to develop.”

The site also adding “Being in the mood of Bowie, Cobain, Cohen, Gainsbourg, Lennon, might be purely imaginative… but that's precisely the point.”

We’re pretty stoked to try out these fonts. You can download the fonts here
