These new Dr. Martens are inspired by two iconic Black Sabbath albums

Yes, it’s true. Dr. Martens and Black Sabbath are finally teaming up for a new collection.

For the collaboration, the footwear brand and “godfathers of heavy metal” are paying tribute to two of Black Sabbath’s most iconic albums.

Earlier this year, Black Sabbath celebrated the 50th anniversary of both Black Sabbath and Paranoid. Similarly, Dr. Martens is celebrating 60 years since it first introduced the “Air Wair” trademarked shoes in the United Kingdom.

Given the circumstances, the metal band and company have decided to join forces to honor both of these milestones. The new footwear collection includes two pairs of shoes inspired by Black Sabbath and Paranoid.

First up is an eight-eyelet pair of boots inspired by Black Sabbath’s iconic debut album. The shoes feature the album’s artwork of a mysterious woman dressed in black while standing in front of the Mapledurham Watermill in England. The artwork’s grassy field and tree-filled background add further depth to the boot’s design.

The collection also has a three-eyelet pair of shoes inspired by the Paranoid album artwork. The black leather shoes are a bit more subtle than the other boots in the collection. Along with Dr. Martens’ bright yellow stitching, the footwear has the solider from the Paranoid artwork embellished near the ankle.

Each pair of boots also come with a black charm of the band’s logo.

The Dr. Martens X Black Sabbath collection arrives on Oct. 1. More information on the collection is available here. You can also sign up to Dr. Martens’ mailing list and be the first to know when the collection drops on Thursday.
