We are just a few months away from seeing Emma Stone bring Cruella De Vil back to life on the silver screen. This May, Disney is officially releasing Cruella, an origin story about the iconic villain from 101 Dalmatians.
Now, fans are finally getting a look at the film’s official poster and it’s catching punk fans’ attention for a very good reason.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cruella tells the story of Cruella De Vil in the 1980s, before she was terrorizing those adorable pups in the original 1961 film. The iconic character was originally voiced by Betty Lou Gerson before Glenn Close took on Cruella for the 1996 live-action remake.
All the way back in 2019, fans got their first look at Emma Stone as Cruella De Vil in the upcoming film. However, rather than dressed in fur, Stone’s Cruella is covered head to toe in leather, offering a new take on the classic Disney villain. Cruella is slated to arrive on May 28, 2021. Alongside Stone, Cruella also stars Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry among others.
