One of 2016's most anticipated films, the all-female Ghostbusters reboot which features Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as the main stars, is currently in production. Unfortunately, the film will not feature Emma Stone, who was offered a spot on the cast and turned it down.

“The script was really funny,” Stone tells The Wall Street Journal. “It just didn’t feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment—it’s a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.” Stone recently starred in the massive Amazing Spider-Man franchise, which is likely coming to an end in the wake of a deal between Sony and Marvel to add Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ghostbusters is set to hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
