Taylor Momsen, Lzzy Hale and more join Evanescence for “Use My Voice”

Evanescence are offering another looking into their new album The Bitter Truth with their new single “Use My Voice.” This time around, however, the band are joined by some music powerhouses.

“Use My Voice” features the Pretty RecklessTaylor Momsen, Halestorm‘s Lzzy Hale, violinist Lindsey Stirling and Within Temptation‘s Sharon den Adel. As well, the song’s co-writer Veridia‘s Deena Jakoub appears on the song. Amy Lee‘s sisters Carrie South and Lori Lee Bulloch and Amy McLawhorn, wife of Evanescence’s guitarist Troy McLawhorn, are also featured.

Earlier this week, Lee released an empowering statement addressing the double standards women face in rock music. She also called upon her fellow musicians to make a change in the genre.

Now, Evanescence are bringing together some of rock music’s most influential musicians for the new single “Use My Voice.” The band first teased the new collaboration on Aug. 11.

On Friday, Evanescence officially unveiled the highly-anticipated new single that features each collaborator’s vocals layered throughout the track. As Lee shares, the song is about celebrating the power to speak out and promote world justice.

“This is an era of awakening, and full of powerful beauty,” Lee says. “I hope to inspire others to seek truth, find their own voices, and use them as I step up to use mine. Don’t let anybody speak for you. Only you can do that.”

“Use My Voice” is also part of Evanescence’s HeadCount campaign encouraging voter registration. HeadCount USA chose the single to encourage voters to register and check their registration. As well, HeadCount is helping individuals find out about their remote voting options amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Use My Voice” is off of Evanescence’s new album The Bitter Truth which is being released incrementally throughout 2020. The new single follows up “Wasted On You” and “The Game Is Over.”
