Every member of Chimaira except the vocalist just quit the band

Yesterday, we brought you news that lead guitarist Emil Werstler had quit Chimaira, and the band’s ex-bassist was trash talking their singer. Now, all remaining members aside from vocalist Mark Hunter—Drummer Austin D’Amond, keyboardist Sean Zatorsky, guitarist Matt Szlachta and bassist Jeremy Creamer—have quit the band and issued a statement to the PRP:

“In light of recent news, the rest of the band have decided to part ways with Chimaira. For us this was a great stepping stone, and an honor to play these songs live, and fulfill an incredible legacy. This was an an excellent platform to help continue playing music, when our collective bands [Dååth, Bleed the Sky and Dirge Within] either ended or went on a hiatus. Chimaira was an amazing experience and we look forward to future music endeavors with each other.”

Sources tell MetalSucks that the band’s recent tour with the Plot In You and Upon This Dawning was “very poorly attended.” Chimaira had a similar mass departure of members a few years back.

As of this post, Mark Hunter has not released a statement of his own. The band's seventh full-length album, Crown Of Phantoms, was released in 2013 via eOne Entertainment.
