Jordan Buckley of Every Time I Die has won the award for Best Guitarist, presented by PRS Guitars, at the 2017 Journey’s Alternative Press Music Awards, Fueled By Monster Energy!

I'm not Jordan, I’m his dad. But Jordan said I can use my 30 seconds to pay my true compliments and admiration to musicians. I was a teacher for 22 years. My favorite students were always the musicians. They were always the most creative, hardworking and a joy to be with. They were always genuinely nice people, like Jordan,” said Mike Buckley.

As a songwriter, Buckley has a knack for injecting hardcore sensibilities into mainstream ’70s rock tropes. As a player, he instinctively knows when to dial it down and when to set his guitar knobs on “kill.”

After a fan vote, Buckley won against fellow guitarists Ben Weinman (Dillinger Escape Plan), Claudio Sanchez (Coheed And Cambria), Reba Meyers (Code Orange), Steve Menoian (I Prevail) and Teppei Teranishi (Thirce).

Every Time I Die’s eighth studio album, Low Teens, is nominated for Album Of The Year and vocalist Keith Buckley was nominated for Best Vocalist. Low Teens is available through Epitaph Records.

Every Time I Die are on tour with Taking Back Sunday, Modern Chemistry (July 14 – Aug. 1) and All Get Out (Aug. 3 – Aug. 19). See a list of dates below and get tickets here.
