Former Get Scared vocalist Joel Faviere was arrested in an undercover child pornography sting, Rock Feed reports.

Operation Child Guardian was a three-week investigation held by the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida examining child pornography.

“These are people who prey on children and we prey on them in order to keep them away from children as best we can,” said Sheriff Grady Judd in a news conference Wednesday.

The sweeping undercover investigation resulted in 42 arrests over the last two months, including 18 people arrested for possession of child pornography, according to a local report.

There were 892 criminal charges filed against the 42 suspects, and Faviere was charged with over 100 of them.

Detectives received information that someone operating a device located in Faviere’s home was sharing files that contain child pornography, the Daily Ridge reports. “Detectives responded to the home on Buck Run Drive, and during an on-scene preview of his computer equipment they seized, detectives found over 4,500 files containing child pornography, including images of infants and toddlers being sexually abused,” the report states.

He has been charged with three counts Possession of Child Pornography (a second-degree felony) and six counts Promotion of Sexual Performance of a Child (a second-degree felony). In addition, detectives will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of all equipment seized, and additional charges are pending.

Apparently Faviere told detectives he has been viewing child pornography for a year and that it “has become an addiction.”

Faviere, who is 27, was sent to jail on Jan. 25 and has not been released.

He was only in Get Scared for a short time. He joined in 2011 and was featured on their third EP Built for Blame, Laced With Shame, which was released in 2012. Faviere parted ways with the band a few months after the EP's release.
