Previously, the biopic received a ton of push back after dropping its first trailer for people criticizing it for glorifying the killer. It also lead to one of the serial killer’s survivors to speak up.

Then, director Joe Berlinger defended the film after all the backlash, saying that if people actually see the film, they will realize filmmakers are doing the exact opposite of glorifying him. Also, Zac Efron, who plays Bundy, spoke about making sure he didn’t celebrate the killer in his portrayal.

Berlinger also produced the Netflix docuseries Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, which dropped a few months ago on the platform.

The biopic focuses on Bundy’s dual life. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is told through the lens of Bundy’s ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins. The film also features Metallica’s James Hetfield as Officer Bob Hayward.

The film will premiere on Netflix May 3. You can check out the new, and definitely more creepy, trailer below.

Also, in case you never saw it, you can watch the first trailer for the film below.

Bundy was a serial killer, kidnapper, rapist and burglar who assaulted and murdered several women in the ’70s. He was executed in the electric chair at Florida State Prison on Jan. 24, 1989. He confessed to 30 homicides that he committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978. However, the true victim count will forever be unknown.
