Facebook account no longer mandatory for Spotify registration

A Facebook account is no longer mandatory for Spotify registration in the United States, according to Billboard. Currently, US users may still sign up with their FB account, but the option of e-mail only registration has been added.

The lift marks almost an exact year since the requirement was first put into place. Billboard claims rumors of “heated internal debates” led to the lift.
