According to Facebook Messenger head David Marcus, the social network platform is rolling out its response to a virtual assistant. Various app-users in the Bay Area have received the update for a trial period.

Aptly dubbed M, Facebook’s Siri is integrated within the messenger app and can complete various lifestyle tasks. As IGN reports, “it can suggest restaurants, make reservations, purchase gifts and locate nearby dog-friendly beaches and more.”

While Siri and numerous other virtual assistants run via artificial intelligence and technology, M operates through “an unknown number of employees who train and supervise the AI.”
